Six Jizo

 

In front of the main gate, a group of six Jizo statues gathers around one big Jizo. They were made in 1727 and watch the people passing by for now over 260 years.
The Jizo-bosatsu is striving for the redemption of the living beings in the six stages of existence (i.e. hell, devils, durt, carnage, human and heaven). Therefore this group is called the Six Jizo, as evrey one stands for one stage of existence. The centered big Jizo is understood as conclusion of its striving in the six stages.
The group will stand there with mercies and pray for the people's luck.
